It’s. Already. Thanksgiving. Seriously, I don’t know how this happened. It seems like just yesterday my kids started back to school, and now I’m planning the Thanksgiving menu. Yes, the holidays always do sneak up, but this year has seemed extraordinarily crazy… and incredibly inspiring.
First inspiration… Blog Brulee. At the end of September, I attended Blog Brulee. It’s a fabulous, small blogger workshop created by four lovely ladies and fellow RDs. Every year, they invite a handful of food and nutrition bloggers to join them in fabulous Smuggler’s Notch resort in Vermont. The foliage was starting to turn which made for breathtaking scenery, and the speakers and sessions were top-notch. Three days of learning in incredible scenery with inspiring speakers and delicious food. Yes, please!
I came home with a bunch of goodies from fabulous brands, like divine sweets from Lake Champlain Chocolates, sauces from Live Young Kitchen, oatmeal and granola from Bob’s Red Mill, Good Mix paleo nut and seed mix, heavenly caramel sauce from the Fat Toad Farm, dried figs from California Figs and a tumbler and cutting board from the Pork Checkoff. And even though I couldn’t bring any treats from Cabot, they hooked us up with delicious dairy snacks while we were there.
I also came home with a very long to-do list for growing my blog and a host of new friends. It took me a couple of weeks to process that long to-do list, and then it was FNCE (more to come on fun food trends from FNCE), then my kids were out of school for various holidays and now… well, it’s almost Thanksgiving. But, this is my favorite time of year and I always feel inspired to make changes and become my best self. And, my best blog. So look out for some changes in my blog, food photography and website in the coming months. Stay tuned!
